Stock Modifiers & Messages Help Sheet
Following a review of our support calls and account management feedback we have compiled this help sheet to clarify
the processes involved in setting up modifier options and messages to appear when items are selected on the pos.
Stock Modifiers and sale messages are maintained through the KCPOS Administrator and will be controlled either in the KCPOS Main
Database or the local branch database depending on your data settings. If you are unsure what the settings are please contact
Retail Support for Assistance.
Stock Modifiers
The modifiers option was introduced with the hospitality system to allow you to associate with the items you are selling.
The below example details how you could add a sauce option to a steak but the same principle applies if you wanted to use
this to add warranty options to an electrical item for example.
In the KCPOS Administrator go to Action - Stock - Stock Modifiers:
Select the "New Record" option from the toolbar.
Enter a code and description for the modifier.
The description will be displayed at the POS or on the handheld device so this can be the question you would
like operators to ask your customer. Once entered select the new record icon on the lower toolbar to add the options.
Enter the description you want the operator to see.
A modifier can be a message only or can affect the stock or pricing in a sale.
If you need to enter the price details you need to enter a stock code. This can be stocked or none stocked.
